Love Thy Neighbor Foundation

Our Donations

Love Thy Neighbor has been actively supporting the local communities of our Board Members since 2007. Check out the below list to see several partners and beneficiaries we are proud to call our neighbors!

2017:
A few months after Hurricane Irma swept through the Caribbean and Southwest Florida, Love Thy Neighbor donated to several families who experienced varying degrees of devastation from the storm. $15,000 worth of generators were donated to families on the US Virgin Island, St. John. Two families in Naples applied for and received $500 each; one to repair a handicap ramp going into the home, and the other to replace a daughter's laptop and other items that were lost in the storm. And at Christmastime, a Virginia Beach book club bought gifts for a 7-year old girl and her mother who were displaced from their Caribbean home; Love Thy Neighbor contributed an additional $500 to help the Angel Tree family even further.

In August 2017, Envision Lead Grow hosted a week long girl's entrepreneurial camp in Norfolk, VA. Love Thy Neighbor donated $500 in seed money to help one of the finalists pursue her dream of making scented prescription soaps.

In June, $3,500 was donated to SUNY at Fredonia, Jamestown Business College and First Baptist Church Camp JYC.

2015:

In May, twenty-five Love Thy Neighbor supporters gathered together for a PaintNite at Cheeseburger in Paradise, raising $375. Through a partnership with Cindy Shea, an independent consultant for Wine Shop at Home, we were able to bring in an extra $175 through a silent auction. This total amount of $550 was donated to Virginia Beach City Public Schools' Beach Bags Program which provides needy students with necessary food items over the weekends and breaks when they are not in school and cannot take advantage of school breakfasts and lunches.

In October, we sponsored a Virginia Beach family who went from being homeless to living in their own apartment. As you can imagine, this couple and their little boy were in need of some standard furniture for their new home, including a small couch, beds, sheets, etc. Love Thy Neighbor donated $150 toward helping this family get their place furnished.

$3,150 was distributed to Daemon College, Nazareth College, and First Baptist Church Camp JYC in June, and to Christmas Spirit and Catholic Charities in November.
